Many, many months in the making, my first solo exhibition Imprint opened at Gallows Gallery last Thursday (September 6).

I had a ball, there were heaps of wonderful people, many sales and some drinks to be had. Eva Czernis-Ryl, art and design curator at the Powerhouse Museum happened to be in town and came along with Dr Dorothy Erickson, a wonderful artist and academic who did me the honour of opening the show. Eva confirmed that the Powerhouse is intending to purchase Heel to Throat, the titanium collar that has been in their keeping since February 2011 with the LoveLace exhibition, and also said that she was interested in some of my new work for a big exhibition in the Powerhouse in 2013. Gee whiz!!! A girl really couldn’t ask for more. But that didn’t stop the curator from AGWA (Robert Cook) coming through to view the exhibition before the opening!

If you can get down to Mosman Park to see the show before the 23rd, please do. Otherwise keep an eye on my website as I will be updating in the next week with all of the beautiful shots Bill Shaylor took of the pieces
